Hi all

Quick question. My parents are travelling in WT+ on BA tomorrow and have been trying to work out the hand luggage WEIGHT allowance. The BA website only gives the size limits not the weight limit.

They think it is 23KG but normally the limit is 7KG on other carriers.

Any ideas?

BA define it as:

The bag must be able to be:

* fitted into the gauge available in the check-in area
* lifted into the aircraft's overhead lockers unaided

So I guess technically if your parents could lift a 23kg bag into the overhead locker, then its allowed. However, I suggest that trying to lift such a bag into and out of the locker with other passengers standing and sitting around would be somewhat irresponsible and dangerous.

To confirm what NM said I had a BA groundstaffer once say to me "If you can lift it you can carry it on" which seems at odds with their strictness on hold baggage weights - but I won't complain :)
