Flew June 2009 JFK - LHR (747) and LHR - HK (747); June 2010 MIA - LHR (747), LHR - DXB (747) and DXB - KHR (777).

Yes older and tired but still comfy and the service has always been great

The Toileties Average (Maybe I don't know the brand and am hoping with the new layout the bag will be better) and PJ (Love the PJ's).

I usually enjoy most of the pre flight meal better and generally stay clear of food that toughens with reheating. I still like to sample food I don't normally eat - with the serving not being large don't feel guilty if I leave most of it.

I will also be flying BA BKK - SYD Jan 2011 would like to know your view.

I prefer BA 1st over Q 1st in 747 the FA have always been better and friendlier.

I agree, I like the BA F PJ's better than QF and SQ's.

flew LHR-HKG on BA 1st in July. reasonably sure it was 'old' seating in our 747. The dining in the concorde lounge was very nice, did a small degustation menu inflight but wasn't into eating by that stage (flight 2 hrs late and it was about 1am by then, we had felt sorry for the people at the concorde lounge and left for the terraces lounge at the satellite the last hour of the wait. We were the only PAX left and they very much appreciated being able to close up and go home)

The Anya Hindmarsh bags are oddities, like toy gladstone bags. Woulldn't give them an award for practicality.

Seating very comfortable and got a good nights sleep under a big duvet in a fully flat bed.

Breakfast was overcoooked and greasy.

Service was very pleasant and unobtrusive. You'd hope to expect that in First.

Noone has commented on seating selections, assuming you are in a 747. if travelling together again I would preseat the first row of middle seats (we were automatically allocated those) and switching to 1A and 1K on check in if available. Guessing you can do this through OLCI. possibly you could have 1A and 1K preallocated but we were only SG and they were blocked.

Cheers skip
