Awards on EK metal and EK flight number bookable from 31 March

Not sure whether to believe this or not but I called today to find out about QFF awards on EK metal and EK flight number. I want to fly DXB-LCA-DXB (nested within my QF syd-dxb-syd trip) so called the P1 line today and was bounced to the premium reservations line. As this is not a code share I was informed that we will only be able to book after 31 March.

It will be interesting what comes of that and whether that is correct.

September - I have the syd-dxb-syd flights booked and the DXB-lca-dxb dates are locked in but I would like J awards which I think could be trickier...
