Hi All,
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but I am looking to go SYD-LA next year. A normal J award is available on the dates I want (just over 200k points) but I was hoping to snag an ASA to earn status credits. The exact same flight, however, is well over 1 million points searching for an ASA - does this sound strange to anyone ?
Thanks for your help

Not strange at all for VA; Get into your mind now that ASA for VA aren't worth the time/value getting in nearly any and all circumstances

I think the idea is that they're priced so no reasonable person would use them.

ASA's are priced based on a fixed conversion from $$ to points - hence the price.
