Award flight taking longer than usual to ticket.

I booked an award flight over a week ago now, Paris to Boston (operated by american airlines) and still haven't received my e ticket/receipt. I rang Qantas a couple of days ago who informed me, 'it's a small little operation who ticket those flights, so probably will take a while'. It just seems strange to me as normally I receive them within a couple of hours, anyone else having the same problem? Thanks.
