My wife & myself are both members of QFF & have approx. 400k points between us.We would like to use these to get 2 return premium economy seats to London departing July/August 2013. We would like to stop over in Singapore on the return leg. With the deal being done with Emirates, this would not be possible on Qantas, so I thought that perhaps I could book with BA using my QFF points.
Can anyone suggest how I can do this via the QFF site ? I am new to the booking process & have attempted to do a trial run to see what is available but have only been able to see Qantas flights, these don't seem to have any premium economy available. I also don't like the $1000+ fee's & charges each we have to pay on top of the 128k points each if we went economy.
Thank you for any help/advice,

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I am not sure, but I suspect that after the date the code share between QF and EK, that will be the end of any points use on BA as they would not be code sharing with them when you want to fly. Also, the amounts you indicates as taxes appear correct as it's about $400 in taxes one way to the USA, for one pax. Others with more experience will no doubt comment further.

Taxes are about right. The new setup via Dxb will reduce the UK governments tax as it is based on distance.

BA seats should still appear on award booking since QF and BA are still in oneworld probably no stock at the moment.

It might be better trying to book over the phone as operators can sometimes see more options. Try not to fly on heavy load dates ie school holidays / Monday's (workers traveling).

Good luck.

As has been stated often in last few days BA are still in OneWorld and a Qantas partner airline (just like CX AA etc ) That is not likely to change so expect will be able to get reward flights on BA with QF points (just like on AA, CX. LAN etc)

My understanding is stopovers are not allowed on rewards (but I could be incorrect)
With a stop over in Singapore on the return you need to book
a) Aust - LHR one way (by any route- SIN HKG DXB)
b) LHR-SIN one way
c) SIN-Aust one way

OR
a) Aust-SIN return
and
b) SIN-LHR return

Qantas has high fuel surcharges and UK has a horrendous tax on departing flights, that increase by class of travel. These cannot be avoided.

As post above phoning (5000 points?) is an option
Be aware that premium economy on QF is considered to be better than on BA
Best to be flexible with dates / day of the week / gateway city from Australia
