Hello,

I wonder if someone is able to help me out or point me in the right direction.

I'm looking for award availability on TG flying MEL-BKK on or around the 15/2/2011, returning 22/2 in Business. I have tried to navigate various websites suggested by you friendly people here in lieu of seatcounter (a moment's silence), but with no success. Is this user error, no availability or (most likely) a combination of the 2?

An existing FlyerTalk post suggested that I should have been looking for availability in "I" booking class.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

You need to tell us what kind of points you want to use. What Airline?

What I will tell you though is I have NEVER had an issue getting J seats using Star Alliance points on this route. Thai is extremely generous with award seats in biz on this and other Australia/NZ routes.

I think if you just ring and ask the call centre of whatever program you use they can tell you pretty quickly if there are seats available.

Try awardnexus.com or look at the Flyertalk BMI Diamond Club forum and look at the ANA Tool masterclass thread if you have star alliance miles.

If you're using points from a Star Alliance member, the ANA tool says there are at least 2 seats on TG462 (MEL-BKK) on 15/2, and on each of TG465 and TG461 (BKK-MEL) on 22/2 in business class. It also looks like there are seats a day either side - probably easiest to call your frequent flyer program and confirm they have the same availability.

Cheers,
Mike
