Experts,

I’d really appreciate your expert insight on the following. I’m currently searching for Qatar Airways business class award flights from anywhere in Europe to anywhere in Australia between 7–10 July. I understand that Business Class Saver awards are subject to availability, but I haven’t been able to find any seats so far.

While I recognise that June through August is peak travel season for Europe, I’m puzzled as to why there’s no availability to Australia, given that it’s typically a low season for inbound travel. Based on your experience, is it likely that Qatar will release additional award seats later this month—or is this level of availability what I should expect?

People coming back before the holidays finish.

Lot of people might leave before the holidays start and come back a few days before they end

Just had a quick look, and few seats to South east Asia and loads from Europe to Doha. I am thinking this ticket might have to be two separate booking type of thing. Get one from EUR-DOH and then DOH-SEA and get a cheap fare to AUS.
Also, you can use Seats.aero to search multi-city codes like SAS for southeast Asia and EUR for European cites.

QR certainly have a fair bit of J avaliability Europe to DOH as does Velocity and AA.
Velocity has J availability DOH-PER on 8/7 but on their wet lease flight.
AA has no J availability from DOH to Australia.

Privilege club use Avios which can be used to book a variety of partners flights and can be transferred amongst other Avios cartel members.
Maybe try getting back to Asia with Qatar and then see if any availability on Qantas from say CGK back to Australia

Looked for CBR as the destination? (QR are due to again fly to CBR)
With avois you all have (theoretically) all OW airlines
  • BA (LHR-SIN-SYD)
  • MH (via KUL)
  • UL (via CMB)
  • CX (via HKG)
  • JL (via TYO)
  • QF
Look at where those fly from.
Does QR have multicity to force a route?
