Award availability issues again?

Hi VFF,

I realise you probably won't be able to say anything in response to this, but can I request a check on whether any recent maintenance has resulted in award availability not being what it should?

I think business availability in VA7 reduced significantly recently, and on the Etihad site, I can see availability for several First seats, but the call centre can not. I realise this may just mean Etihad hasn't got them showing as available for VFF redemptions, and that VA7 may have just sold out, but I'm trying to make a booking and it sure would be nice if I didn't have to ring the call centre all the time to check if seats have freed up!

Start of August. I did see availability pop up on the 3rd yesterday so I grabbed it.

I suspect I was just looking at a bad time for the VA flights - assuming there was/is an issue, it's with partner flights. There certainly isn't complete VX availability showing online, and Etihad is a mixed bag even calling the contact centre. Although my issue is sorted out thanks to some intervention from the VFF presence here, I believe there are still back end issues!

I think there are definitely issues, a couple of weeks ago I was looking at reward seat availability SYD-DUB and couldn't find a single seat and I checked from June-Nov. There were anytime seats mind you at >200K per leg. :/

I've been attempting to upgrade my seat using points on a upcoming SYD-AUH for close to 6 months now, last time I called I was told all reward seats had been exhausted, expert flyer in the meantime shows 90% availability in J class for the flight in question.

Looking on the website there seems next to zero reward seat availability on this route for the next 3 months

You can only upgrade on VA operated services . VA is not operating on this route in MAR until mid APR15.


I just had a look at a random date in APR and can see heaps of seats on the 25TH SYD AUH

There seems to be very little business reward seats available
