There’s a limited time promo to Boost your Avios (BUY) for a day or so. The amount you can buy is determined by your last 3 months of points activity accruals. My only accruals were the monthly subscriptions that land 16,667 in my account, which somehow they determine I’m eligible for 15K. At the highest 3x boost multiplier, I can buy 45K for $540. That works out to 1.79 cpp AUD on todays FX.

I'm a buyer at this price considering one-way Qatar Business awards to Europe are 85.5K Avios ($1530 AUD).

EDIT: The calculation is based on prior 12 months, not 3. Eitherway, my available balance to be boosted doesn’t correspond to my 12 month earning.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

This is what I can buy.
Assuming I have a lazy $6K USDIMG_7631.jpeg

My boost is only x2 making AUD1.83 cents /avios.

Mine also says this:

But I can’t see how or where to do this. Any ideas?

You can move the slider to 3x. It also seems that you only selected 22K Avios to boost
Thanks. I moved the slider. Must have been operator error the first time.

I only have 22K of eligible transactions and I’ve selected them all.

I can’t see any option to add more at the booster price. 🤷‍♂️

I received the email, but zero Avios aren’t readily boostable…..😔

Dang, I didn’t know about these “Boosts” otherwise I would transferred a few things in and converted some points to get on the Avios treadmill before the end of the year.

I don’t think transfers/conversions qualify. You have to earn them or as BA term it, ”Collect” points through traditional means.

Ts&Cs confirm transfers from other airlines (assume that means Avios2Avios) and family transfers and points previously purchased are out but they seem to be the only restrictions. It would seem that Hotel earned points and say, e-Rewards etc are eligible?

”5. Not all transactions are eligible for boosting. Exclusions are balance transfers from other airlines, Nectar exchanges, Avios transferred or gifted by other members and previously bought Avios.”

Well I looked at it and not really a good deal for me. Better redemption rates on AA so for a premium award on QR to or from Australia the cost of buying AA points even at the regular rate is just as good as this boost deal.
What really matters is when it comes to JAL redemptions. Way less points than through BA. Not to mention significantly less “taxes”.
Basically JAL is my favourite airline at present.

There is a lot of bias here (on AFF) to get hold of QR award seats - so Avios in BA that can be pushed over to QR (or whichever program works best) has a lot of interest.
