I did a search and all threads on this were a bit obsolete, or closed....

SO can anyone recommend any REASONABLY priced places to stay in Auckland?

I'm not a member of any clubs, so don't get the discounted rates that some of you professional travellers get.

It needs to be in the city centre, within walking distance of the "action"...

I've stayed at the ex-Hyatt (now Pullman) before, and liked the newer apartment rooms, but I'm looking for something a bit cheaper this time cos my economy is broken. :(

I'll be staying 2 nights (next week).

Thanks! :)

I have stayed before at the Hilton. Very good but priced a bit out there.

Also have stayed at the Holiday Inn. Good price and reasonable quality

I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza, Mercure, Mercure Windsor, Hilton and All Seasons.

Of those the All Seasons fits your price range at around NZD60 - however it is very basic.

We stayed at the Skycity Grand 2 nights over Easter, had a great rate via Wotif including brekky and valet. Would stay there again if the price is good, room was huge and modern, location is okay (just below Skytower), breakfast was just okay.

Have stayed at the Stamford Plaza previously- booked through WOTIF- about 18 months ago.

Cant recall the price, but was relatively inexpensive and within walking distance to the harbour. Nice Thai restaurant downstairs

I stayed at the Chifley Suites in Albert St. Thought it was in a good location and relatively new & the Taller Park Chinese just around the corner was a great authentic experience when we were there in 2010

I have stayed at Quay West, and the Ascot Metropolis. Both were ideally situated ( Ascot apartments were nicer) sorry I cannot remember the costs.

Have stayed at Crowne Plaza a number of times and quite happy with it but apparently no good prices for next week. Also stayed once at Quest on Eden (a 5 to 10 minute walk to Queen St) and found it quite okay - no air-con IIRC, but that hardly matters at this time of year).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
