I booked a return flight on Monday and noticed that DJ now has assigned seating which is great. I was assigned 4d on the way down and 3c on the way back.

I showed up on the lounge in Sydney today for the return flight and was assigned a middle seat toward the back! I would have dealt with a middle seat, but what really annoyed me was that the assigned me the seat and then took it away.

What is the point of offering assigned seating if DJ aren't going to honor the assignment?

Did you ask what had changed :?:

I did ask, but the lounge checkin didn't know. It wasn't her fault, so I did feel the need to press it.

I would have been fine (uncomfortable maybe, but fine) if it was just a matter that I was the last to check in (it's happened before, I'm sure I'll be last again!!).

Oh well, maybe QF will status match!

I wonder if your plane was substituted causing a seating shuffle. Would be interesting to know the cause to keep in mind for the future.
