Asiana airline cancels flight last minute!

Hi guys,

My mother inlaw is flying from ICH - SIN - MEL. ICH - SIN was suppose to be with Asiana. But they cancel the flight last minute. They put her in Singapore air but the seat is right at the end in the middle aisle.
They said they cant do anything about it as flight is full.
is she eligible for any compensation?
 
What is your grip? Is your MiL still traveling on the day/s requested and what compensation are you after? At the simplest level when you book a flight from point A-B with an airline, that is the contract you enter into.

I should of said, she paid for better seats at the front I think. But she end up getting the back row at the tail end
 
Do you mean she paid for business class and is now in economy? Or she paid an extra fee for seat selection?

If the former, you'd think compensation was owing. If the latter, I'd think that extra fee for seat selection should be refunded on a pro rata basis.
 
I would just ask OZ for the fees paid for seat selection to be refunded. Don’t expect anything from SQ.
