Author Note: If we were to predict this a few years ago, we'd be laughed out of the room (due to the then SQ/UA hostility similar to QF/CX). Although it's good to see SQ/UA expanding beyound their IAH hub codeshares.
They will still compete on the TransPac runs, similar to the QF/NZ arrangement. The codeshares will be routes from hubs (including new codeshares at SFO, LAX, etc) at both ends of the market
Edit: On another note, good news for PER customers.
UA customers to/from PER also gets 2/3 UA codeshare options with the expanded SQ partnership. via SYD/MEL (through VA), or via SIN (through SQ).
