Article: I Have Zero Qantas Points and It Feels Liberating

I've only ever had around a maximum of 400k QFF points at any one time - my largest redemption was a business OWA for 318k pts.

Since then, I now no longer hold a QFF earning CC and have redeemed a few upcoming CR seats, my points balance is down to low 10,000s.

With the upcoming devaluation of points, it's best to burn them ASAP if you can - no point hoarding them.

Did you say devaluation? When? Because I thought we just had a devaluation!
There has been no major devaluation of Qantas FF since June 2019 (tweaks, yes: such as Emirates changing rewards tables and increasing carrier charges a few years ago. But there have been no major changes to the points required for flights).

The next devaluation will be in August 2025.

Last December I had a near 600k balance, peaked in the 700's, now down to less than 3k!

All that I feel now is anxiety!!

To be fair though, plenty of flying up front has happened as a result, and still more to come. Never would've happened without the QFF program I'm sure.

I now have 60pts in my account.
I just used all mine on 2x ADL-KUL-DOH business class for May next year (119k points)
Well those points ended being refunded back into my account 6 weeks, as that trip didn’t eventuate for obvious reasons.
Over the 12 months I have accumulated over 150k points from 60 that I had after the booking.
But as of yesterday, I got the Qantas points back down to under 2k with a Europe redemption.
Melb-Colombo-Frankfurt business class for 2, May next year. Plenty of availability for Paris and Frankfurt with SriLankan for next year.

I completely agree.
I always earn 100K Qantas Points per month. If I can used them up then it is really liberating.
At least I don't need to worry about where I can use them up, and how I can use them etc.
