I hardly fly VA so I've always had a Red membership.

Got a flight HBA-SYD coming up.

So even on domestic flights, are no seats complimentary now? Is it maybe due to the fare type I purchased, as it was pretty cheap? I know QF offer pretty average seat selection for low teir members, but even for sale fares, you get checked luggage and standard seat doesnt cost anything.

Economy Lite will need a payment.
Until T-48 in my experience....

EDIT: just checked the website:

"Guests travelling on Economy Lite fares can purchase Preferred Seat selection up to 3 hours prior to their flight’s scheduled departure via Manage Your Booking or during check in. All seating excluding Economy X is complimentary within 3 hours of scheduled departure."

Not sure if a glitch but the other week I checked in online 48 hours before and it let me pick any seat (Except X) for free.

The seat seems to ‘stick’ once you select it. I then went back and changed it a few times without finalising the online checkin.
