The excellent resource provided by a Flyertalk member has been suspended because of ongoing issues with the source information. I think the best bet is to either create a dummy booking using the oneworld Explorer planner tool or phone one of the oneworld airlines (AA probably being the best) and ask for the base fare.

Intriguing.

without taxes what I can see is

DONE3 JOD4400
AONE3 JOD10036

Thanks guys!!!

is AMM the cheapest place to start these days?

looking at doing Middle east/europe - AUS - US - return to Middle east europe.

just used the online booking tool keeps coming with 6100JOD does anyone know why that would be?

base price.
there was a multiple carrier fees applied to the total price. any idea what that fee is and how i can avoid it

Hmmm. I'm not sure.

Try a very simply itinerary like AMM-xLHR-ORD-LAX-HKG-AMM. Make the first flight RJ and the trans-Atlantic with AA. See if that changes the base price (it shouldn't). If it doesn't, maybe the base has gone up. Then try calling AA in the US to get the base fare.

My understanding is that prices ex AMM and TLV increased significantly recently. Unless you are brave enough to try Khartoum them maybe Johannesburg is the place to look.

I have just done a
AMM BA
xLON BA
CHI AA
xTYO AA
//
BKK RJ
AMM

and get a base fare of JOD4400 so there must be something in your routing triggering a higher base

if i include australia as part of my routing. it increases the fare to $7200USD. if i dont fly via Aus and do asia only it qoute $6200 USD. weird is that right????

i think this is where i come unstuck.

(k) Travel between South West Pacific and Europe/Middle East on a single flight number/or by surface is considered travelling SWP-Asia-Europe/Middle East through three continents.

is there a way around it, if i fly LHR to MEL via Dubai with BA and QF will that mean i avoid the above?

Including Australia makes it a minimum xONE4 so that would probably explain it.

No. Any itinerary including South West Pacific will mean a minimum of four continents. It is not possible to travel SWP-Asia-Europe/Middle East as a oneworld Explorer because you wouldn't actually fly around the world.

hmm looks like i will have to go via asia only or pay the extra and get a DONE4 instead.

Interesting, I would have thought there would be opportunities now to do an xONE3 from oz with SWP->Middle East/EU->North Am->SWP. So it looks like even taking QF1 SYD-DXB counts as transiting in Asia..

Normally the incremental cost from xONE3 -> xONE4 would be competitive with getting an additional round trip ticket SEAsia <-> Australia. So only really an issue if you really want 16 segments on the xONE3 or are willing to fly in economy say SIN-PER-SIN (where it the cost isn't that high as an add-on to a DONEx)

It gets more interesting if you want to start in JNB and have to chose between SEAsia and SWPacific to keep to an xONE4 rather than xONE5.

Oh where or where are the SCL/EZE/GRU/GIG <-> CPT/JNB flights in One World...

No happy wandering? :)
