Card Promotions ANZ Rewards Platinum $95pa fee w/ 75k Velocity pts + $50 back + $95 VA credit + 30 SCs - via PointHacks

The same happened to me (only getting the points and SC after lodging a complaint). I didn't get the flight credit either. I closed my card in January 2023 after getting the points and SC, and then in April out of nowhere got the flight credit email. The same happened with my partner - I think it's just a matter of waiting a few months, annoyingly.
Hi Oubline, my partner just received the flight credit recently too after closing the account awhile back. We did not expect to receive it after closing so it's a nice surprise. We did not receive an email to change the password for the travel bank they set up, so just wondering if you received it and set it up successfully?

Thanks blacksultan. We received the email that they have already set up the travel credit, and another email informing us that the $95 has been credited. What we have not received is the password they used for the account. In one of their emails, they mentioned we should receive another email with the password detail - for which we haven't received yet. Wondering if it takes long to receive that.

I never actually got a password email but I just reset the password through ‘forgot my password’ here Login Page | Travel Bank

Thanks, I think I'll follow your lead. :)

Got my sms today after reaching minimum spend a few days ago. Logged in and completed details. Checked my account minutes after and have received bonus points and SC.
Can close card now ;)

I just got off the phone with a very helpful fellow at ANZ. I had uploaded bank statements for proof of income as part of my application (last time I provided payslips which mentioned parental leave and it caused lots of confusion for them and I had to prove that I was going back to work after my leave finishes 🙄) and they wanted to clarify a few things.

I had missed the part where I'm only supposed to put in my "my share" of the expenses, and had listed the full amount (joint expenses) for each expense category. Because this was not an application for a joint card, I didn't need to list my partner's share of expenses. I wasn't aware of this! The helpful ANZ fellow had noticed that my bank statement was for a joint account, and that I had listed the full amount for rent, car expenses, etc, and he figured that I should probably only be listing half of that amount in my credit card application. So we went through every single expense category and he let me correct the number.

I'm sure I would have been approved anyway, as my income is high enough to comfortably pay for all our combined expenses, but I thought it was a very thoughtful thing and shows that they do actually pay attention to the documents you provide.

I've never had any real issues with the ANZ card application process, even though I read plenty of complaints on ozbargain and some here as well. To me it seems like employees have an easier time than self employed and sole traders.

This bit always confused me too. In my personal situation, I earn around 95% of the household income. But our bank account into which my salary is deposited, our home loan/mortgage and most of the utility expenses are in joint names. The credit card used to pay said utility bills and all other living expenses is in my name. So in reality, it is my income that is paying the bills.

So should I list my "share" of the expenses as 50%, which would seem to meet the bank's accounting practices, or as 100% of the expense which better reflects reality? I have always documented 100% of the expenses as I want to be realistic and thankfully have never had any issues with the numbers raising any red flags through the application review/approval process.

This sounds almost identical to my situation as well. It's interesting they ask about it but make no inquiries about partner's income

Indeed, and make no clarifications regarding how to address such circumstances. And the first action after approval is always to get a supplementary card for Mrs NM.

I no longer bother with the extra card. I just add it to my Google Wallet and give my partner the physical card. I churn so frequently that it's rarely worth going to the effort of getting another card
