I know it has happened before, but just wondering if this has happened recently? I'm just sitting at 480 and soon 490. I have a long-haul coming up and want to be prepared... cheers.

I attained silver a while back with 240 SC's (with additional upcoming trips in my bookings). I also attained gold with 495 SC's.

As it's an unofficial rule, I wouldn't rely on it though. Not sure whether there is additional criteria for the early status review.

i hit WP with 980 SC but did have serval future booking against my name. that might of contributed to an early status increase

Exactly the same experience, I hit WP with 980 but had future flights booked. From memory I hit SG with 490 too.

Thanks for the reply. Was it automatic or did you call it in? Also, did it take as long as a normal 500 review?

I hit gold at 490 SC, automatic. From memory it was around a week after the qualifying flights.

Isn't it 400 SCs to retain? Are we talking attaining?

I heard they were pretty hardline about retention with posters here saying they were denied on 380 with upcoming bookings in the bank.

It's 600 to retain. With Qantas which is not an answer for a Virgin thread.

Velocity seem to be updating points and Status more often. It used to take ages but lately our points balance has jumped 100,000 in regular weekly increments since last November.

I also like the new email Velocity Statement, very streamlined and easy to read.

Flights seem to be crediting slower than ever though. Fuel seems to credit straight away but I've got flights from Tuesday and Wednesday that haven't turned up yet (Friday). QF flights used to credit overnight (haven't flown for a while so I don't know what's up now) and I'm sure VA flights would appear quicker than three days later.

This. I went to Gold at 495. I still had 60SC's processing through the system. VA flights can sometimes take a few days to credit. Codeshares seem to take a bit longer.

Excited by the prospect of an early upgrade to SG with 440 going on 560 with other bookings within the next month!

Flew SQ back in Dec and Feb, took about a week+ for SCs to be credited on both occasions but VA flights generally take about 2-3 days.
