Hi all, I have a v early (6.30am) Trans Tasman flight with VA from MEL this weekend. Assuming I do OLCI (which VA now offers on Trans Tasman flights), does anyone know what is the latest I can do a bag drop? The VA website states "We recommend you are checked in with bags dropped at least 90 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time" .... but I'm guessing bag drop doesn't actually close until maybe 60 mins pre-departure?
I notice that OLCI does actually close 90 minutes before departure, so that makes me wonder. That said, according to the website, airport check in only opens 2 hours pre departure, and surely they don't only allow a 30 minute window for everyone to get checked in?
Normally I'd be showing up more than 90 mins pre departure, but since that means 5am on this occasion, I'm not sure if I'll manage that.
Also interested in any comments on likely time to get through passport control/security at this ungodly hour.
