Anyone know if Dallas flights are Skybed I or Skybed II fit in J class??

Does anyone out there know if QF has the new Skybed II J fit on the Dallas route?
I've been avoiding the 747's with Skybed I fit to use the LAX 380 flights with Skybed II - far more comfortable BUT inconvenient to get to other locations in the US on AA!

not yet, as far as i know there is only one 744 running on Skybed II and it is operating between BNE-LAX.

by the end of next year i think it will be
 
..........but as a WP you can book J and pick a seat in the F section. (subject to availability of course.) then you do get a lie flat bed.:)

I guess I'll stay with the A380 out of LAX and endure the extra hop via DFW on AA domestic from PHL to get to LAX! At least the AA domestic is in F on on ATW QF J ticket...(along with associated SC's)...

Did not know that! Thanks for the tip - I've been WP for around 5 years and did not know that on routes where F is no longer offered (and seems Dallas is such a route) you can choose an F seat albeit J service for the 747's.

SKYBED I is to say the least 'ordinary' - I actually prefer the BA J fit and have been using that far more than QF J in the past. :D

As I understand it for QF, F is now only offered on LHR and LAX routes?

More generally do we know the roll out schedule of the upgraded 747's and what exactly is been done to them?

As I understand it:
(1) rip out the ageing F fit at the pointy end
(2) rip out the SKYBED I fit in J
(3) Replace the above with SKYBED II (takes more space)
(4) Add more Premium Y
(5) Possibly shrink Y
May be others including galley U/G and lick of paint!
More 'in the know' FF's may be able to provide more detail....

From memory there are two configs now for the 747-400ER - and unfortunately there are still only 36 PE seats (all from memory so I could be wrong), less J seats and a whole lot more Y seats.

Did this trip a couple of weeks back (again).
The J config is Mk1.
In the trip reports I've posted some pics of the old F cabin which I flew in (J service) SYD > DFW.
FAs confirmed the boats were to be refitted with F removed and all replaced with J Skybed Mk2.
Toilets are also being removed to make way for more seating. The F toilet was 'nice' i.e extra space and a window.
It sure is a long flight but made all the better in J (or F).
