Is that more to do with Dubai’s floods than Muddle East drones and missiles?Latest on flights from Cairo today - I was booked on the 19:05 but that isn't going so am definitely going to be spending the night in Cairo...

Totally the Dubai floods I think. Just about to call the QF contact centre again. Is that more to do with Dubai’s floods than Muddle East drones and missiles?
Yep nearly got washed out into the Persian Gulf!Whats up with that seems like the whole Middle East just disappeared in one night. Or the monsters have invaded Maple Street (twilight zone reference)
If the flights are going I think you will be fine - basically the floods in Dubai are the cause of the problems not the Israel-Iran fisticuffs. Here in Cairo they have raised an eyebrow at Israel being silly enough to want to continue it but it is business as usual.Oh gracious
Yeah
Increasingly likely it’ll be a non-starter
Apparently Israel retaliated
Sorry totally missed your post @kpc - I hate trying to use my phone for internet browsing!Friends were in transit on Wed at Dxb, bound for SJJ....arrived 5 hours late after circling airport for 2 hours. Flight fo SJJ cancelled and they finally got a flight to Zag instead 7 hours ago (flight delayed 8 hours!!) after spending > 30 hours on the ground in Dxb with no hotel available ....they said it was chaos at Dxb!

The view from the hotel room isn't too shabby -
Absolutely. I feel for everyone trying to get through DXB - that backlog is going to take ages to clear. Good luck, hope you're underway soon. You've done pretty well considering how messed up the EK network has become - I'm looking at a few unplanned days in Cairo by the look of it.
I suspect that being a Friday might have played a part in both of those - its certainly not as clear today! That view seems remarkable for two reasons - the lack of traffic on the October bridge, and the clarity of the air.
This reminded me of the song the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain. Instead, it's the plane stays mainly due to the rain near Al Ain...Our CEO was trapped in Spain for a couple of days, Emirates ended up booking them back on Qantas via London to get them back faster! Rain looked incredible…
I was half thinking that I might be doing CAI-LHR on BA then QF2 home... or CAI-JNB then QF home that way!Our CEO was trapped in Spain for a couple of days, Emirates ended up booking them back on Qantas via London to get them back faster! Rain looked incredible…
