Anyone going to Japan from Brisbane in next few days?

We inadvertently forgot to post the wifi router and battery we hired in Japan and now need to get it back to them. Unfortunately we can't freight the lithium battery but if anyone was travelling and would be prepared to drop the prepaid packet into a post box for us, that would be excellent. We can drop it to someone in Brisbane and would be more than happy to give you a bottle of Moët or whatever. We are a bit stuck..... any suggestions? I'm sure we can't be the first people to have the problem.... thanks.

To the OP, whilst I can sympathize with your situation, taking goods across borders on behalf of someone else is a really really risky thing to do and I would strongly recommend that people don't do it.

Have you spoken to freight companies about options? Sure they may not be too keen on putting it onto a plane, but there may be other shipping options available, since at some stage a freight company would have gotten the battery to the company you are attempting to now return it to.

Yes, that's exactly what we have just done this morning thanks. Australia Post accepted the router and we've paid just $20 penalty for the additional battery to the company in Japan. Our own fault for forgetting to drop it In the post box before going through to the lounge. Last year we used the same company, perfect!

By the way, a holiday in Hokkaido with a rental car, was brilliant. Happy to share info if anyone is interested.

yes I agree and would only have done it if I could have met the people and packed it in the pre paid packet in front of them.
As it turns out, we found a solution that worked and wasn't too costly. Cheers

I'm for info as well Karen. We've got 16 days in Japan next May with Hokkaido as our main destination.
