Looks like we are off to Rome at the mid-end of November for three weeks. THe hubster has enough points to take the two of the kids and himself (booked this part) and I'll take the other one and use the DMs we;ve collected (might need to purchase a few miles)

Any suggestions on routes to get there? Not really interested in anything too tricky.

What state are you in? Would you prefer to go direct to Rome from an Asian country/or Middle East or happy to go somewhere else within Europe if availability is better?

Based in the Whitsundays so would leave from Brisbane or Sydney. Probably prefer as direct as possible

BNE/SYD-BKK-FCO all on TG. Easy.

Should have no problem with availability if booking now.

If looking for F then TG SYD-BKK-FCO is simplest. You may find better availability into MUC, ZRH or BRU with connections to FCO. If you are looking for J then flying out of BNE is an easier option. Connect in BKK. If doing that I would try to find seats on the OS service from BKK to VIE and then onto FCO. If getting 4 seats on one flight becomes an issue, take a look at TK via IST out of BKK or SIN.
