I'm migrating to the fee-free Citibank Pt, and am considering cancelling my CBA Gold (esp when there's no more secure sentinel).

I'm seeking suggestion on what to do with the rewards pts - e.g. get something from their catalogue? move them to QF? or upgrade to Pt then move to QF - is it worth it?

The best value tends to be transferring them to the QFF program however when it boils down to it its whatever you perceive as good value eg. you may earn truck loads of points anyway through QFF and would like to buy a TV.

Edit:
On reading your post further I realised that you don't have the CBA Plat card which means the transfer rate is different. If you can upgrade your card and transfer the points 1:1 then that would be best.

CBA have pretty poor redemptions overall.

Even to QFF, as a Gold, you will be 1.5:1 or something similar.

Plat is 1:1, so you would probably see benefit in upgrading, transferring points, then cancelling card (or threatening to cancel) and see what they will do to retain you (maybe fee-free, or a discount off the fee for the year).

I did have a CBA Gold car until I brought a house and changed banks.

I had about 50,000 points and used them on the following.

David Jones Gift voucher: $100.00 I think it was 15,200 x 2
Itunes gift voucher: $70.00 I think it was 7,200 or there abouts.
Just got the cash on the balance I think $40.00 from 7,200 or there abouts.

I didn't bother transferring them to Qantas.
