Any reason for me not to cancel QP membership after ten years?

I've been a QP member for about ten years. I am usually QPNB. This is my situation:

- I fly maybe 4-6 times a year for work, I'm entitled to J class on all work travel

- thanks to the helpful tips on this forum I am now amassing enough QFF points to be able to fly J or Y+ for holidays a couple of times a year

- I now have a Priority Pass membership via amex card

Since the recent "enhancements" I can't think of any reason to keep my QP membership. There seem to be no advantages in either extra luggage allowance, priority check-in or anything else I can think of.

Any reason I shouldn't cancel? I get renewals at a small discount via my professional association and the cost is tax deductible.

With that info there is no reason to continue to purchase QP.Your domestic trips get you into the J lounge not just the QP.So all you lose here is the ability to guest.
Internationally it makes no difference on non QF flights apart from Admirals club entry in the US.Your OW lounge access is covered on your J flights and PP comes into play on the Y+ sectors.Again you are missing the guesting into QPs or ACs.
So if you normally dont guest anyone, dont renew.

AC’s perhaps, but as a fare-paying J customer, you can guest someone into the lounge with you now. There was confusion a bit ago, but the rules were clearly changed.

I’d agree with drron, if you’re not doing much intra-US travel, otherwise, the QP membership would be useful there… unless of course you earn enough SC’s to hit Gold, then it really is useless ;)

Although an additional point to consider is have you at least earned Silver membership, because progressively through next year major airports will have NGCI, which will require a Qantas Club card or status card to swipe your way through check-in quickly, otherwise you’ll have to line up. If you have bags, this point could be moot, but it should make things faster if you have access.

NGCI is not worth a QP sub by a long way.
Absolutely when you can checkin on line anyway. As a QPNB I really dont want to wait until i get to the airport to get a seat allocated. And 2C to DPO tomorrow(sequence3).
