Hi...need to book flights HNL- FLL for Feb/March next year, checked out AA.com.au and Expedia.com..au. and were happy with prices but Priceline.com have a better return option to HNL and at a cheaper price...is it safe to book with them, not sure if anyone has had any issues with flights using them. All AA flights. They also offer an insurance option at $16.00 pp but not sure if that is aapplicable to Australians. Hoping to do booking today is possible.

Apologies too if I am repeating myself, started this conversation originally in the General Airline Loyalty forum when discussing options for QFF points or AA Advantage points

Thank you

What's the best fare you've been quoted for the HNL/FLL flights? I'm assuming you're travelling in economy class?

I use www.priceline.com to do the initial fare comparison but always go to the actual airline website to do the bookings.

If booking AA flights I always use the US site only ie www.aa.com not the AU one.

Hi there and thanks

This is the priceline.com quote below and on expedia and aa.com.au is $1768.00....when checking the aa.com site was even more expensive, so not sure what to do..what do you think ? Dates are 24/2/13 AA 284 and AA 1584 then 11/3/2012 AA1585 and AA297

I just had a look at KUPP fares HNL/FLL which were approx USD2500.00 return so not an option however HNL/SJU return is USD1,177.40 per person return and you would travel in First Class eg HNL/DFW/MIA then Business MIA/SJU.

You could always buy a cheap return fare SJU/FLL and fly the outbound sector on 24 or Feb Feb then the return sector FLL/SJU on 11 Mar or thereabouts.

Remember to allow plenty of time to clear customs in FLL after the cruise (assuming you're leaving the US) so it would be advisable to book a flight ex FLL in the afternoon. When we did a cruise ex SJU, there is no customs arriving as Puerto Rico is considered part of the US but as our cruise went to the Caribbean when we arrived back in SJU we had to clear customs which took awhile due to only 3 customs officers processing over 1,000 cruise passengers.

Hi Oz and thanks again, will have a look at those fares, no issues with the Cruise as get off on the 10th and had allowed an extra day anyway and then back to Honolulu for a few days before coming home. Not overly confident about booking KUPP fares ( had to look up what they meant anyway) just wanted the most economical and straightforward way of getting there, if we could earn some SC's and points along the way would be great, still learning and reading as much as I can if not for now then the future. thanks again

I use Priceline a lot when traveling in the US for flights, hotels and car bookings, its a great site, I often do a comparison with the same flight with the airline and frequently Priceline can do the flight cheaper.

Never had a single problem with a booking once made and a couple of times I booked then hadd a change of heart and was able to change at no cost in the 24 hours after booking.

We have time either side as was going to spend 6 days prior to Cruise in FLL and dont need to leave Honolulu until 19/3....checked that jet blue do a return flight SJU to FLL for about $186.00 each...do you know anything about them.
