Any Current Experiences Flying Qatar ?

I am flying in 5 weeks and was able to book my free stopover accomodation yesterday, all done in 30 mins. The changes helped mu cause with flights to Zurich dropping to one per day.

Flew ZRH - DOH - MEL last weekend on a VA redemption made ages ago. VA staff were incredibly helpful with the schedule change and rebooked us into a revenue bucket (they must have had internal rules on this, as some dates were available for rebooking but others weren't), and when I realised that the revenue bucket was P and therefore meant losing lounge access, I raised it and they knew exactly what I meant and rebooked again into a higher class - I was very pleasantly surprised.

ZRH-DOH ended up being downgraded at the last minute to a non-Q suites A350 but c'est la vie. The mini cabin was completely empty and the main J cabin around two thirds full. Service was excellent and the staff were very excited for the schedule to ramp back up. Ordered the seared chicken with creamy mushroom sauce and whilst the taste was good, the chicken had well and truly been turned into cardboard.

DOH airport was fairly busy, but only because the north concourse was largely closed (including the orchard, Al Mourjan garden, etc, but platinum north was open and very quiet) - I understand that this part of the terminal fully reopened as of last Sunday. Al Mourjan South was reasonably quiet and relaxing.

DOH-MEL was a fairly busy flight, with only a handful of seats empty in the J cabin. Service was again good but not as personal as the previous sector. Asian beef short ribs dish was simply sublime. Second meal prior to arrival in the late afternoon was "breakfast" and, not wanting to choose a sweet dish or the omelette, I had the Arabic breakfast - but that then felt too heavy.

All in all, a fairly normal experience during very unusual time

Compared to $8000 for two pax (4k each) business class return, from Jakarta to Brussels.

$14000 extra for the Australia flight! Insane.
Insane plus some... just booked Jakarta-Manchester... Madrid-Jakarta for (6k) $3029x2...

Also reminds me how QCredits are such a seriously good benefit when you consider $950 for a one way economy (upgrade to business for free) from SYD to BCN ..
