Yes, I know, not really essential, but anyway...
Ok, so I recently started putting some of my hotel stays towards Le Club Accorhotels, after IHG put in their need one stay every year at very $$$ hotels to keep earning IHG points.
In Le Club Accorhotels, has anyone earnt extra Le Club Accorhotel points for spendings on non room charges?
If not, I might just eat out instead of in the hotel's restaurant.
At least Ibis Hotels in Accorhotels chain is not as $$$ as IHG hotels.
Any info appreciated, thanks.

I thought the answer would have been "no" AP, but I checked their site and found this:

Earn even on your expenses. Earn points on your bookings and on your hotel expenses at the bar, spa, restaurant and more.


So it's seems to be a big fat "YES". (I never check what they give me, just blindly accept what they have calculated. It is their promotions, offers and sales where I find advantage; well over 150 nights per year in hotels {self-funded}- so I blend 3,4 & 5 star stays to be totally cost-efficient. Although when staying with my wife it's usually a Sofitel or a Pullman)
 
Used a free night on Accor Plus and got points for food spend car parking etc ...
 
Virtually anything charged to the room will get points. The backend systems aren't sophisticated enough to even filter out some types of purchases vs. others. But yes, food is a big yes. Other programs will have notes about excluding Parking (often because the parking is handled by another company) or dry cleaning etc.
 
You will generally get points on anything charged to the room. Keep in mind, though, that Accor points also expire after 12 months of inactivity. Also, the Ibis earn rate is pretty small, half of the other hotels.
 
... and also Accor are pretty finicky about how the room is booked; they try hardtop direct all bookings to their web site. Often a particular hotel will try to refuse all points if booked via a TA, even if the TA uses your own credit card.

7.3. elIGIble expeNSeS

The following expenses paid by the Member are eligible expenses:

– Expenses for Member accommodations and up to one other room at the same hotel on the same date (for a maximum of 2invoiced rooms), provided the Member is staying in one of those rooms.

Note that if the Member books two rooms, points are earned accordingly, but the number of Eligible nights is based only on the Member's room.

– Services in addition to hotel accommodations, namely: mini-bar,telephone, room service, pay television, Member meals at the hotel restaurant, and drinks at the hotel bar.

– Expenses for thalassotherapy and balneotherapy services provided at a Thalassa sea & spa center connected with theparticipating hotel, provided that the Member stays at the hotel.Points are calculated on the basis of the total invoice for eligibleexpenses, excluding tax. This invoice must be paid while theMember is at the hotel, that is, payment must be accepted andcleared. As a result, if a Member stops payment of a check, issues check with insufficient funds, or challenges a payment by bankcard, he/she will not receive any Points for the transaction in question.

The following do not constitute eligible expenses:

– Extras paid for by the Member (even if settled at the hotel) as part of a non-eligible stay.– Taxes, tips, taxi trips, transfers to or from the hotel, service charges, and other applicable charges.– Advances.– Expenses incurred as part of organizing a company seminar,banquet, or any other event, including private events, paid for globally by the Member (with the exception of the MeetingPlanner promotional offer).

– All other expenses paid, such as business centers charges,boutique purchases, spa products and services, hairdresser,beauty parlor, and golf green fees. Note: Eligibility rulesregarding parking and laundry charges may vary depending onthe hotel infrastructure.– All charges and expenses not specifically mentioned as beingeligible expenses.

It is not your credit card that's important, it's the booking channel. Follow the money, if things are being booked through non Accor channels, then 12-15% of the room rate is making its way into paying commissions etc. If you book through the Accor channels, they redirect some of that commission that's not paid into your points etc.

Yep, agree with that train of thought (its what I've been told at hotels) and I've discussed exactly the issue in other threads here before. BUT Accor T&Cs say that TAs bookings are OK wrt points (as lomng as its an 'eligible rate' and I've been successful in retrospective claims almost every time. Ultimately, its the hotel in Krakow or Tbilisi or wherever that pays up, so its a local 'try-on'.

All stays booked at eligible rates through traditional travel agencies are eligible for the credit of points, whatever payment method used (except online agencies, such as Booking.com, Expedia, etc.).

Its been a few days since checkout from the 2 Accor group hotels, and the points there are so far only the hotel night stay rates.

I will see if I can find the A4 piece of paper invoice on checkout this weekend for the stays.
Might send them (Le Club Accor) a copy of them and see if they can give me retro points for ancillaries.
One good point for others who are considering Accorhotels, is that they only take Aud$1.02 as a credit card authorisation, yes, I know the Novotel at AKL Airport takes Nzd$100, but at least the Mercure and Novotel CBR City Centre only took Aud$1.02.
Edit: You can also count places like Hotel Club out, if you book with them (Hotel Club) for room nights at Accor hotels.
Of course you do get Hotel Club quasi $ for booking with them.

Is that right? I should check my account but I think I received the same earn rate for Ibis Styles that I received for Mercure.

I have had no issues points accruing. In fact bonus points are posting as well.

I am now Accor Gold through to 06/2016 with a few cheap stays and only 5,000 points away from Platinum. And unlike IHG the 2 times I have stayed since turning Gold we have been given an upgrade to Deluxe room.

What brand? I've really not seen any difference since I've gone to Gold with the exception of fruit or chocolate left in my room. Considering I don't eat either, it's pretty useless.

Mercure. Room was huge.

Unfortunately I travel on a budget and with a Thai fiancee I am not allowed to splurge too much on hotels so won't be trying the better brands too often. I may stay at Bangkok Novotel Lotus next trip as it is near the Australian Embassy.
 
We had a nice stay at the Novotel Darling Harbour on the weekend.
Hopefully points for accommodation and dining will accrue ok.
