Came across this on FT SQ forum. Can see why maintain an even ratio of male FA's to Singapore Girls on their flight with idiots like this on board. Said passenger, a young Australian male who'd had a few too many had to be restrained and tied up by crew. Wonder if he'll be dealt with in Singapore?

Silly question really, given the way they treat people with chewing gum :D

And rightly so, behaviour like that should not be regarded as minor.

Wait wait wait - is this guy Estonian, Australian, or an expat of one of those countries living in the other?

SGD 15,000 IMO is pretty light sentence in comparison to the crime. The nine weeks jail is a bit more reasonable.

In any case, all hail the raging idiot.

My link is for a recent and as far as I can tell similar case that was tried in Singapore, I would expect if the video shows an event that occurred this week then we will see a similar story in 4-6 weeks.

Separate incidents I think. Also flying BCN-SIN, whereas Estonian guy was flying FRA-SIN. The guy on the video in the link I posted is holding his age very well if he's 41....

In which case if he's dealt with in SG, I hope he gets a fine, jail and a beating.

Maybe I made a mistake when viewing the video, but it looks like the flight attendant starts punching the passenger?

That's how I saw it too. Plenty of attitude from the passenger for sure, but then we cut to a scene of him getting the Rodney King treatment. Ok maybe I exagerate a bit and without seeing the full tape and hearing the dialogue it is very hard to determine why this incident escalated into an unseemly scrum.

I didn't see that in the video, although could have missed it.

Assuming the guy is Australian, he looks like an absolute tool and a very poor ambassador for Australia. The sort of idiot that I wish we didn't export to other countries, but rather neutered and locked up in a small cell. He even looks like he has probably done some time in jail.

Idiots like this are the reason Australians are treated poorly in certain countries because of "our attitude".

Sorry for the rant.

not punching, he is trying to get the ties around the guys arm to restrain him.

We dont hear the sound, but it appears he is mouthing off at passengers and being very abusive. He looks to me as if he was given ample opportunity to sit down and be quiet, the crew seemed to be calmly telling him to sit down before it seems they had to restrain him.

No reason for you to apologise, I 100% agree with you.
