Amsterdam to Sydney via LHR or SIN?

It looks likely that I'll be organising for one of the young adults in my family (20) to fly urgently home from Amsterdam this week due to the escalating situation. The options we're deciding between are:

a) KF points in J (saver) --- AMS-SIN-SYD (there is also a back-up on QFF points in Y, which is a combination of KLM/QF)
b) Cash fare in Y --- AMS-LHR-SYD - about $2,250 AUD from memory

I have KF points spare (since I had to cancel my own trip to AMS to see them!) and so a) would usually be the obvious option, but I'm somewhat concerned about the screening situation in SIN (I don't want her to run the risk of potentially being quarantined half-way home - she will self-isolate as soon as she arrives in AU).

All the lay-overs are pretty short --- I have an option of 70 mins and 3.5 hour layover in SIN, although 70 mins feels tight.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Does it have to be Qantas? Given today’s announcement I’m not sure if you can guarantee the flight will not be cancelled.

I can see actually cheap fares with Emirates and Qatar if you want to avoid Singapore transit - under $1500

Yes, wow, that's what you call cut in capacity! It doesn't have to be QF - SQ is good too. EK and Qatar are our back-up options, as she would prefer not to travel through Dubai/Abu Dhabi currently.
