Amex Velocity Platinum Card 80k bonus points $500 min spend

I received a referral letter from Amex today offering 80k bonus Velocity points to any new cardholders if they sign up and meet the criteria. If approved the referrer will get a bonus 20k max 200k points for 10 referrals.

Requirements
Apply by the 31st May 2016
$500 minimum spend within 3 months
Offer not valid if you have a current Amex issued card of have held one in the past 12 months

Same $349 Annual fee and card features including the complimentary domestic flights etc.

the referral thing is regularly available via the website.

If you go to your online account and select the tab across the top " REWARDS " it has a menu item called " refer friends and earn rewards "

then select the card you have and i gives you the referral code / link to send.

They are just pumping the marketing at the moment on these referrals and sending out reminders / invitations to card holders
