AMEX Ultimate Travel Credit?

It is a downside that the AMEX Qantas Ultimate travel credit cannot be used to access some sale/discount fares because it does diminish the value that can be extracted from the credit amount.

It is definitely something that people should be aware of before signing up for the card.

I am awaiting my AMEX Plat Charge Card. Does it mean the travel credit will not be added until next year when the annual fee is due. I thought it will be credited immediately when the annual fee hits your card after card activation.

Yes, sorry, I should have clarified that you'll get it shortly after you activate for a new card and then around the anniversary each year thereafter.

Ok cool , I have upcoming flights and hotel bookings to be made. Waiting for the arrival of my new Amex card so I can start reaping the benefits.
