AMEX travel credits & price match

I need to use the travel credits on my Platinum Charge & Reserve combo ($300 + $400) but most of the flights I'm looking for are available for about $200 elsewhere... basically cutting the value of the travel credits by about 50%

Has anyone been successful in getting AMEX Travel to match any other major travel sites (eg Expedia) or direct prices from airlines?

Nope, they don't do price match.

The prices are pretty much on par with the airline's official website prices. But I do agree, the travel agent websites offer more competitive prices!

I generally use my credits on vanilla SQ fares ex PER. Prices are the same as the SQ website and you do not get charged the 1.3% CC surcharge which is an added bonus...
