when I went to the link suppled in the T andCs I got a broken link

FWIW,

I booked two fares on Virgin for around $400 last week. I then saw this promotion and signed up.

A $10 credit appears on my account this morning.

Thanks for this - I just signed up.

One observation though is that the website for registration doesnt look like an Amex site and could be suspected of being a phishing scam - I guess I rely on the 500+ posts of the OP to give assurance on this.

I went sign up and was taken to a "You have already registered" page. I don't remember registering, but I checked my Amex account and lo and behold $10 back on my Virgin flight purchase from last week.

You could start at the top of the site: www.amexnetwork.com.au and work your way down. It is the same site that has been used for several promotions over the past year.

Yeah I wasn't impressed by the sign up page but by looking in the web address it is https not http, so a more secure connection and also looking in the bottom corner I could see the page was signed by VeriSign, Inc. and the owner of the page is American Express Company.

You also find this details if you look at the page info and the security tab.

It's legit - I received the email from Amex last week and activated it. I'd forgotten about it and was pleasantly surprised when the confirmation email came from Amex saying I'd qualified for the credit.

Could someone please tell me with what details the $10 was credited back into the account. I only received this email on 20th September so didn't get a chance to spend $50 at any of the participating retailers and today I received a $10 credit from "UK REGISTERED CARD NON SELONDON 000". Is this how the $10 appeared for people?

Shows up as two lines:

Name of Merchant
Promotion Credit

Like kyle said, it says it's a promotion credit.

Here's how it appeared on my statement:
