THIS IS BIG!
The time is now! The stars have aligned and anyone without an AMEX in their pocket have hit the jackpot. Of course I'm talking about – The AMEX Explorer Card!
The big sign up bonus is back! Correction: It is not back! This is unprecedented! We have seen a slightly higher bonus before however it required paying the 2nd year annual fee. This one is right off the bat after meeting the spend criteria! Sign up using a referral link, and you'll earn 240,000 points (as a referrer, I'll earn 50,000 points for each referral made).
My referral link can be found HERE
Details are: Receive up to 240,000 Membership Rewards® Bonus Points when you apply online by 2 December 2021 and spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. Card comes with a $395 annual fee.
Other key highlights:
· $400 travel credit for American Express Travel (book flights, car hire and hotels online - I've found AMEX competitive when compared to other major online travel booking engines) - (offsets the $395 annual fee)
· The usual suite of insurances are provided, including Smartphone Screen Insurance when you pay for your phone / contract with AMEX (for up to $500 repairs).
· 2 x invites to the AMEX Sydney International lounge are also on offer.
I signed up to this card in December last year and it has been nothing short of fantastic. I’m not a big spender by any means but with an earn on spend of 2pts per $ on almost everything I’ve seen my points balance increase at a pretty quick pace. Add in the $400 travel credit which more than offsets the annual fee and the continuous stream of AMEX promotions and this becomes a no brainer.
NOTE: If you are a churner my recent experience is that the bonus and travel credit can be had while avoiding the annual fee. Happy to discuss how privately.
As many would know Mrs NoName and I have gone on a few trips to the US & Europe and have chronicled our journeys pigging out on a few trip reports. Well we were meant to be doing another one over the 2020/21 and now the 2021/22 Xmas/New Year periods, both of which were obviously abandoned. We will be rescheduling for some time next year now and have the fingers crossed. If you enjoyed my previous trip reports and would like to help make another one possible then a sign-up through my link would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance for helping me produce another instalment of fun, frivolity and gluttonous food consumption!
