I know this isn't the deal of the century but in the context of rather ridiculous J fares to Europe/USA, this is quite a good steal

AA flying AKL-DFW daily from 1/11/22 - end of march I think - seasonal route with their 787-9 with super diamond J seats

Fare Basis: IJE0ASN5
No cancellations allowed
1/11/22 - 9/12/22

Fare rules seem to allow routing through SYD if required for extra miles though I've mostly looked at direct AKL-DFW
/VIA THE PACIFIC/ MPM 10604
MILEAGE SYSTEM APPLIES BETWEEN ORIGIN AND DESTINATION
MILEAGE SYSTEM APPLIES ORIGIN TO DESTINATION
TICKETED POINT DEDUCTION OF 600 MILES APPLIES
WHEN TRAVEL IS VIA SYD
TICKETED POINT DEDUCTION OF 2000 MILES APPLIES
WHEN TRAVEL IS VIA DFW OR LAX

Prices out at ~ 6750 NZD (6050 AUD) including taxes
Amex Platinum IAP (NZ based) can get it ticketed for 6300 NZD (slight discount)

I haven't seen sub 7, let alone sub 9k transpacific for several months now

Wish that route was flying earlier. I'm seeing $AUD9k for Y+ transpac for late Oct on QF, and around $4k for Y.

All we need now is either QF/AA to do AKL-LAX and then we’ve got a nice little oneworld hub at AKL for US flights, which opens up lots of opportunities flying from airports other than the big 3.

Unusual to see a good long haul point2point fare at the moment.

Alas, AA is definitely not sharing the love with connections from Oz.
