Alternatives for transport to Skybus/trains from capital city airports

Bus from T2/T3 at SYD to Mascot (main) train station, is indeed $3.30, or $2.31 off peak, but then, if you jump onto the train, it will price it as a separate fare, (minus the (- $2 which is the transfer benefit).
Yes. But at least you’re not paying a flat fare to go a short distance.

But if you change to another bus within 60 mins it’s a contiguos fare to your final destination.
That $3.30 or $2.31 you paid on the bus, does not continue onto the train fare system, ...
This is re: the full adult fare.
Technically it does hence why you get the $2 transfer credit.
If you stick on the bus to Bondi Junction, then, its the same one fare all the way, $5.77 or $4.03 off peak for 8 kms and over.
Not sure where you got those numbers but it’s $4.49 from airport to BJ Train Station. Or capped at $2.50 with a Gold Opal…😉.

Maybe the title of this thread needs updating to cover other cities.

I wonder when (or rather if) the train comes to MEL if they’ll have a bus that routes via Keillor East so people can avoid the invariably extortionate gate fee they charge at the airport itself. 🤣 (like Mascot).
