Thanks Virgin for a call this morning, saved me from getting out of bed.

Good to hear that a virgin woke you up so you could stay in bed.
If stranded at an airport away from home due to weather does Virgin arrange accomodation. The Guest Charter seems to indicate NO. This is not unreasonable as it is beyond the control of Virgin. I only ask because I have only had this happen once, I was on a Jetstar flight which was cancelled due to weather at the destination and everyone who was not local was accomodated overnight at the airlines expence and flown the following day. So I am just interested if the same would happen with Virgin.
Delays for reasons such as bad weather, airport or air traffic control issues. If the delay is 2 hours or more, you will be able to move to another Virgin Australia service to the same destination at no further cost.If we’re unable to offer you an alternative flight until the next day, we will attempt to help you source hotel accommodation and transport to/from the hotel if required.
From memory, I think Liam picks mid-morning flights regardless, so it would seem he subscribes to the Jason Bourne moto "rest is a weapon"! .
BTW, it's nice and fine here......just now. I think more rain is predicted though!
Here's a pic from my back yard when the river rises.....

Would you believe I was on the 8am with 6am wakeup? That's early for me!
Ouch, that water looks nasty, hope it didn't cause much damage.
No damage, our property has three tiers, the riverfront goes under every flood, the back yard level has never been under in the 12 years we've been here and the house level has never had recorded water to this height so I'm never overly worried, but we do get a great front row seat of the floods!
Back to flying, try the 5am MEL flight out of BNE. That's a killer! I leave here about 2.45am so I can have breakfast in the lounge so that sees me roll out of bed about 1am (I have to attend to emails before I go)!
Why on earth don't you fly the night before?
I just flew in from Auckland. Up at 5.00am, so 2.00am for you lot. Got in at about 7.40am local time. I was seriously worried Gold Coast would be closed from the bits I was hearing. Anyway made it back absolutely knackered and jumped in the car to head back to Ballina.
Nice pic ! I am glad that wasn't the airport. Not just for my sake, it would slow the lounge down.
