Why? I could perhaps understand a vote against the remuneration, but why against everything?

Are you sure?

I dont want this to turn into a slinging match but for mine, I dont believe that a CEO has the time or desire to receive and respond to emails from joe bloggs. Should I email AJ about requesting a lacto-ovo meal for my flight in June next year and expect a personal response?
Having said that, if something comes in that requires their attention, im sure it gets passed on.
 
It can happen, I had a problem with my local Woolworths, the local manager failed to resolve it so I contacted Woolworths HQ and low and behold spoke to Roger Corbett the CEO at the time and guess what. The problem I had at a store level was resolved with 48 hours.

While not always easy to speak to the head cheese, with a bit of luck you can.

I get the impression that sometimes CEO's like to take a selection of customer issues and deal with them. It heps the get around some of the filtering of issues that sometimes happens in organisations :shock:
 
I'm not sure you can be. It is not that difficult for someone to have written the response on his behalf, but sure, lets run with it......

Not that I care if you believe me or not, but I can guarantee you it was real.
 
When everyone was whinging about being stuck on their Vodafone contracts and taking the matter to the TIO and blah blah blah, I e-mailed a very nicely (but firmly) worded e-mail, backed up with a two month log of the problems I was having, directly to Nigel Dews the CEO. I never received a personal response, but did get a call from their customer resolution team 2 hours later, and was off-contract (no penalty) ten minutes after that, with a free month to see if things got better, and a significantly better deal if I did decide to stay (I didn't).

So it can work.

That's my impression too. Steve Jobs (RIP) was known for it. There's even a website:
