Towards the end if every Year AirNZ Airpoints give their Gold Elite members a choice of "Gifts".

https://www.goldelitegift.co.nz/

Last your I chose a set of N/C headphones - very nice they are too.

This year the choice is:

1) Phitex noise-cancelling headphones
2) LEGO City Plane toy
3) Treat someone to Gold status
4) Make-A-Wish donation

Number 3 is very interesting; it provides AirNZ Gold status to someone for a year - including *G status when travelling on Star Alliance airlines. (Benefits include Lounge Access)

Did it come in the little golden cube? They used to back in 2000/2001 - gift wrapped even!

I think I still have a gift box floating around somewhere ;)

Interesting promotion from Air NZ.

I wonder what the Lego City plane toy is, but the gifting the Gold Status is a good one.

Its a plane that looks like a E Jet with 4 engines and a sexy nose

Ah so there's a code on the card...

I hope i didn't throw it out... I thought the card was a really nice gesture but I quickly moved on...

According to the FT thread you can call Airpoints (or Email gold.elite(at)airnz(dot)com) if you do not have your code.

Just got home from LOTFAP to discover this.

Serfty - does the Gold gift include *G???

Because i gave SWMBO Partner GE, but that doesn't include *G, so this could be quite valuable....

Going by posts on the AirNZ FlyerTalk forum it does give the full *G Monty.

I considered that option too, but as SWMBO only flys with me I decided personally there's little advantage.

Cheers Serfty,

I think I'll give her this instead then. (Plus the website tells me the headphones are all out of stock)

Whilst technically a downgrade from GE, *G means she can use it on AC, and on NZ is flying with me anyway :)

Well logged in today and SWMBO has full Gold status including complimentary upgrades!!

My nominated GE status didn't :( haha I think she's getting the better deal!!
