Airline points used to book hotels

Since starting to chase airline points, I haven't looked into the possibility of using them to book hotels.

Is this a possibility with healhy balances of QFF, VFF and KrisFlyer points? If it is, I imagine it won't offer the point value of an international business class ticket but is it much better than buying a toaster; perhaps somewhere in between these two extremes of point value?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I haven't looked at using Qantas points for hotels in great detail but think the value is roughly 0.7c/point which is the same as the Qantas store?

Thanks. It's a pity there aren't more (any) hotel-orientated credit cards in Australia.

I'm not sure what the conversion rate is. It never seems to be consistent, so I just go for the best value.

I get enough points each year flying to the UK or Europe business class to book about 4 hotels. This is almost perfect for my European travel needs. I don't get enough points for anything else useful, flying only once a year, normally.

What are your preferred hotel reward systems and credit cards they transfer from?

I don't have any CC points (I'm retired now, so nobody wants to give me a credit card!). I just use one-world points through Malaysia Airlines.

I'm probably going to switch to another airline as they don't do Brisbane (again! 🤬) any more.
