Coming through security at BNE this morning for EK434 I was with all the EK Crew for the flight and was surprised at the amount of 300mm ++ bottles they had.

The security staff naturally took them off the four crew that I saw with them, but was dumbfounded at both why crew of all people didn't know or follow LAGS requirements and secondly to their surprise at having them taken off them.

Which then begs the question, are security staff in Dubai and further on lax on Crew in regards to LAGS restrictions or are not intently looking for anything when they come through?

Different countries have different rules for crew.

For example:
Flights from the USA, UAE and Singapore, crew are not restricted by the rules and can bring on anything.

Flight from the UK, Australia and Hong Kong, crew are restricted by the same rules as passengers.

Considering how many destinations Emirates crew can fly too, throw in a bit of jetlag and forgetting the rules for where you are, it's an easily done thing to pack the wrong items into your bag.
