I am a Platinum QFF, but I've decided to suck it up, and book my next December Y flight to Brazil on EY. QF=AUD ~3700; EY=AUD ~1500. The price difference is obscene!

Are there any unpublished benefits to AirBerlin Gold members, such as better seat selection, and access to lounges in Australia and Brazil?

As an Australian, with most flights to North America, is it better to accumulate miles to AirBerlin (gold), VA (red) or EY (zero status)?

Cheers!

Thanks EtihadAirways.

It'd be nice to have access to lounges in SYD and GRU as well. Also, I wish I could select exit row or bulk head seats for free. Too bad I missed the status match promotion...
