I recall a request for reports on CA's Business class in another thread.. which of course I cannot now locate...

..but..as I had a few photos and can make a comment or two....

The seats are very similar to TK's A330/777 fit.. Properly flat and quite comfortable..

Slippers (should be provided in ALL Business classes!) are a bit better than OZ's..and RED of course. Slippers are unpacked and placed on the floor in front of ones feet by the FA's... (!) Quilts are decent.

Enjoyed the food... BUT the drinks selection was poor. (Unless there was a severe language problem AND a misprinted drinks list the only Spirits were Scotch, Gin and one other (can't recall... Sorry)... No Bourbon....

IFE worked fine... but again..choice was limited.

Cabin was clean and neat.... FA's were perfectly alright..

I'll fly with them again....

AH. Slippers are definitely needed as the floors may not be very clean with spit?

Someone who travels extensively within China once told me that you absolutely cannot walk barefoot around any Chinese hotel (always use the slippers provided) due to the locals' bad habit of spitting on the floor... I could not tell if he was being serious...

Massively off-topic & uninformed post. Solid F minus.

You recount as if it was.

And which part is uninformed? Are you the sort that walks barefoot into the lavatories on an airplane?

Not sure if he was serious but after hearing his statement and observing general cultural practices there, I am sure serious about wearing bathroom slippers in any PRC hotel.

Back on topic, the CA business seat looks nice and more spacious than the QF Sky beds...

Bourbon in J? Ughhh no thanks. Leave it for Y+ DPS-Australia flights.

Ahhh.. Alcohol snobbery.....Well.. I wouldn't expect a GOOD Bourbon on ANY airline...... but.. to each their own... OK?

I think the cabin looks older than it is due to the colour scheme and fabric type... There were none of the usual signs of cabin age (no bits hanging off or badly scuffed etc....)

I think it looks fine. Having tried Y internally with MU and CA I don't think I'd have too many issues flying J with either. Thanks for sharing.

Looks nice. Might be worth spending points on if they are running that type of business class to MEL. Just to clarify, is it a 2-2-2 formation? What degree of difficulty would the midnight gymnastics be for the passenger in the window seat (my preference)?

As for the other carry on in this thread, yes, I've noticed over here that Chinese people don't mind spitting in public. As long as they don't spit at me, it's not actually a problem.

And as long as the beer is cold and plentiful, the alcohol situation is fine.

The beer just left outside in HRB will be much colder than the beer served on a Chinese aircraft :D

Good call on the slippers - I have a burgeoning collection...

Why do you think I moved to Harbin? ;)

Only problem is that my apartment is 16 floors up with no balcony. Have to make do with "fridge cold".
