JoeyMelb,

As I posted in post#37. You are braver than I:!:

misstam,

My wife laughed when she read your reply and asked about the payback that you might inflict.

Thank god, I am not in the dog house. Far from it. Currently luxuriating in Dusit Thani Bangkok's Dusit Club with my lovely partner/gf/wife/mistress/<or pick a title least offend>. The sun current shine through my backside as far as she's concerned. I am taking her to my tailor later on today to get couple of dinner wear made (of course, I have already told my tailor on how much I am going to spend and only display the fabrics in that range).

All you need is an "occassional" brownie points (provided that you have KF or QF points to redeem) ;-P

Yes, I am an extremely cheap. I am willing to risk my health and saftey to put my better half and her mother in Air Asia X with deep discounted tickets, with very very little baggage allowance, no entertainment nor food/drink. Look at this way, it is cheaper to put her on those flights to lose weight than Jenny Craig program.

Personally, I think the title of this thread should be changed: "Air Asia No service and cheap, perfect as Weight Watcher Alternative"

No offence, but you sound like a bit of a ****head joey. Enjoy your holiday.

No offence taken, I believe that's how my better half think of me sometimes.

However, this tread is about AirAsia. Anyone wants to fly with this airline really need to consider carefully.

Fortunately Joey all of us here are respectable ,honest, trustworthy people of the highest moral scruples.Otherwise some might just be tempted to fly Air Asia :p:shock::D;)

straitman, glad your wife got a laugh from my post - and I admit i had a chuckle writing it!

Fortunately for me, though, I am NOT joeymelb's partner.. I made it up, couldn't resist, sorry. :p

The payback.. well hypothetically, if i'd busted my partner saying these things, he'd be holidaying by himself with a thai curry laksa neatly poured in the pocket of his newly-tailored suit.

And sooo, maneuvering back on topic... I've flown Air Asia X a few times, and Air Asia recently from BKK to KUL & I haven't found a problem with service (if anything, Ive found the Air Asia X service a bit too attentive - being asked on a date by the steward on my first flight). The seat width has never struck me as an issue & I'm by no means a twig.

I'm quite a fan of the outrageously low fares you can pick up on sale & have no hesitation flying with Air Asia, especially on the short international hops in Asia.

Just booked a mate Air Asia CNX-BKK AU$67 with 20kg baggage and then BKK-SIN AU$97 with 20kg baggage & meal. Connects with Jetstar SIN-DRW AU$121 with 20kg baggage.

$285 to get from Chiang Mai to Darwin ? Not bad I reckon. You get what you pay for and with 2 stopovers enough time to stretch the legs & get something to eat.

Why did you tell me the last as you have spoilt my fun:!:

OK time for me to eat some humble pie. A week is a long time in the airline industry.

Since I posted on 23 Sep, Air Asia has now reverted to listing fares exclusive of taxes in the flight selection listing. You can still see the total fare on the RHS of the page (so still no need to click to another page), but no longer in the flight listing. A week ago you would never see $0.00 fares listed, but now you do. Don't know if this is a permanent change, or just to do with the "20% off" sale, where you don't get 20% off the airport taxes - just the fare. Will wait and see.

And the windback continues. Now this deceitful practice of a non-advertised "convenience fee" without offering alternative means of payment is there for Air Asia as well at $5 a sector. So within 6 weeks they've gone from a "what you see if waht you get" practice of pricing, to the standard "what you see is NOT what you get" pricing on the website.

So, I paid an 'administration fee' on a ticket I bought in May (22.5MYR, or about $7), they got rid of it, put massive banners ontheir page and use(d) it as a marketing point, but then stick it back in ($5) recently at the point of purchase.

Without a free payment option, I think this is in breach of ACCC rules.
