Got a lowly 180sc with DJ and will lose Gold on the 3rd March. They have screwed me around with my seat preference in heaps of Flights so I have gone elsewhere largely for the last 6 mths. I have well qualified with QF so the flights have been largely gaining me nothing status wise.

but have just booked a heap of OS stuff with DJ and Delta for March so by the 27th of March I will have accumulated 520 SC on 3 DJ flights and 2 Delta flights. Should I ask for a bump, maybe explain why I am not flying them or given you get a months grace not bother?

Seating preference stuffups seem to be a common theme with VA (havent been DJ since Jan 2013) - so I agree - would not hurt to politely ask. I have heard of people on here going up a status level on the basis of future bookings but not yet flown but not so much of how much latitude is given or allowed on the going down a status level. As you say you could lose VA Gold on 3rd of March and then accumulate 520SC by 27th March so will be interesting to see how quick/slowly the SC's post and what happens. Let us know what happens by all means - I think some other people will be interested!

Interesting choice of username given you gave up on VA and requaled WP with QF.

Thanks, will ask and always nicely. It's just I don't get much sense out of the girls on the phone. Does anybody have a reliable email contact address for someone at VA in FF. Could you PM it if so. I just want to get it past the numpties to somebody who might actually give it some thought?

All I have dealt with is the official company rep, called Velocity Frequent Flyer, I have sucessfully PMed them before, they do check their PM inbox fairly regularly but its possible with all the vagaries of status and IT backend/Sabre stuff that even the comapny rep may not exactly be able to say what will happen to you. They will be able to say what should happen to your status, but what actually transpires could be very different! Sorry I don't have access to anyone higher up the food chain.

It seems to be a love/hate relationship with whichever airline we have to deal with - so I understand your sentiment there.
