Hi All,

Just joined up here as i have been reading the posts for quiet a while now. Was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on which frequent flyer program to use based on my circumstances,

I'm living in Brisbane and travel to Ireland approx once a year, i also like to do as much travelling as i can and in the last few years i have managed to get to Asia once a year and a few trips to Nz. I also fly within Australia maybe 5 times a year to Syd/Mel/Perth etc. All of these are private holiday trips at my own expense.

I was hoping to get advice from you guys here based on my circumstances.

I'm in Australia about 10 years and used to travel with who ever based on what was the cheapest flight in the flight centre or sky scanner etc. About 3 years ago after one too many times walking past the business class seats i decided i would stick with one airline so one day i would eventually get an upgrade, the decision i made was as follows,

1. Emriates - Due to availability of desinations i.e Dublin & London, and the option to stop in Asia (Singapore or Middle East) which i generally do. Also they seem to be comparable on price for a trip to South America despite going the long way round.

I currently have 11,500 tier miles (exp May 14) and 51,000 skywards miles. I also got a Citi Credit Card and put every last daily expense thru this card to accumulate miles.

2. US Dividend Miles - I joined this programme and buy miles when i can, i have just done a trip to UK at Christmas return in F with Thai, for 150k miles and have another 150k to use some time. This was an unreal expierence and so glad to finally expierence it.

I didnt too any research on which airline has the best program etc, but i was tempted by EK frequency of flights and the option to stop in either Dubai (have friends there) or Asia.

In Australia i generally fly with Virgin/QF but these miles dont really add up too much. At this stage i assume i might as well stay with this stragey of these too programme unless anyone as any other better options? would i be better changing programe?

Thanks guys and great site here.
