Hi,
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on what the best thing to do here is. My GF is based overseas and was awaiting a decision for her permanent residency (PR). In the meantime she couldn't re-enter Australia. So we planned a nice holiday in NZ, however in the meantime she has gotten her PR and wants to come to Sydney and the NZ holiday is not viable with work. I had initially booked Montreal->Auckland via NYC, LAX, SYD and return via SYD, LAX with the last flight on Air Canada through Expedia.com.br, the rest of the flights are on Qantas (class O) and YQ was not charged. I've been told by everyone that I need to contact Expedia Brazil to deal with this. My options are:
1) Rebook via Expedia and pay the change fee however all O class availability has dried up indefinitely (did Qantas pull it off the site?) and so only very expensive fares remain
2) Cancel the flight and have it credited as a Qantas credit shell to Expedia Brazil. The issue is then finding any reasonable flights in the future
3) Start the trip and break journey at Aus (bad option but just including it)
4) Go all the way to NZ then as travel has commenced, Qantas is able to change the booking
A few other things:
1) There is class O availability on qantas.com.au and expedia.com.au
2) Ideal dates would be YUL->SYD on 21st April, SYD->YUL 27th August (her brother's wedding), YUL->SYD 2nd Sept and possibly SYD->YUL and return sometime in March to go skiing.
3) Initially I saw similar price to Sydney in O class through the site
My main questions:
1) Can expedia.com.br book the flight if it is shown on Qantas.com.au even if they don't show it?
2) If she commences travel what is the general experience with having dates changed? How do they price the return leg?
3) If you have book through the .br site then change do they add YQ back in?
Thanks a lot for any help,
I've tried my best so far to give back what info I can in other areas to the forum so any help would be appreciated.
