Err... So if the author did not book their children in business class until they were old enough to look after themselves, who flew with the children in economy?

A nanny one supposes. But then if you had an nanny he or she could look after them in business class.

never had to do that. the real business class always stays in the lounge until the last moment and rushes to the gate 5 minute before the gate closes just in time for the last of the in flight bubbly.
